Pacific Coast of MEXICO On the Path of HURRICANE NORBERT

Hurricane Norbert has grown into the second major hurricane of 2008 in the eastern Pacific.

The Category 3 storm is heading toward Baja California, and then on to the Mexico mainland. It could gain strength and make landfall as a Category 4 storm, according to the National Hurricane Center.

Tropical Storm Marco just made landfall on the east coast of Mexico earlier this week, shortly after Hurricane Marie formed in the eastern Pacific. Another area of low pressure could form into a tropical storm within days in the eastern Pacific -- marking a resurgence of tropical storm activity in the region several weeks after the peak of the storm season.
