Drunk 4 year old Girl in Oklahoma City taken into child custody

A 4-year-old girl will be taken into state custody after she is released from the Children's Hospital. The girl apparently was acting strange and had a smell of alcohol on her as stated by teachers who told officers this news. Kathleen Kennedy, Oklahoma City spokeswoman, has denied that the child was taken anywhere, accrording to KOCO.
According to an officer at the Village Police Department, the child had to be carried out of Andrew Johnson Elementary School by paramedics. At this time, it is still unknown how the child obtained the alcohol but it is believed that she obtained it before going to school. The child had been said to be doing good. There is being an investigation done by the police to determine how the child received the alcohol, as reported by KOCO.
Children can find their way into many things that parents think are well hidden. Through trial and error I have found some of the best places to put things such as alcohol, medication, and tobacco products. I have all three in my home and started planning a little wiser after I seen my daughter take a child-proof medicine bottle from my purse and throw it across the room. The bottle broke and the medicine went everywhere. This just goes to show you that even though it may say child-proof; children can find ways to get into it. Safe guarding dangerous substances will help to protect your children.
No alcohol is kept inside of the house; I store this in the attic where the children are too short to reach the ladder drop down. I no longer keep my medicine in a medicine cabinet, these are all put in a lock box that has a combination code that has a code that no one knows and the lock box is kept on top of a storage shelf that my husband built way above our closet which is also too high for the children to reach. Tobacco products are all kept in the trunk of our car except for the ones that we are using at the moment and these are kept in a shelf above the refrigerator and even I need a step ladder to reach them.
It is things like this that make you think about how safe your home really is and why you should go to every length possible to protect your children from harmful substances. Even if you don't believe that it may be harmful to them, it could still possess a hazard. Dangerous substances such as alcohol aren't the only things that you should be hiding and protecting your children from. Cleaning products are very dangerous and so are simple things like arts and crafts products that can be mistaken as candy. Always check the labels and see if they say anything that has to do with consumption and if they do, either get rid of them or safe guard them from your children.
Children are curious and even older children can be tempted by alcohol or tobacco products. It is best if your children don't even know that you have these products anywhere in the home so hide them as best as you can in a location that they can not reach or will not think about looking.

30 day Sex Challenge... Issued by a Pastor

sex isn't in your schedule as much as you'd like, a Florida pastor is proposing a challenge.

"We're launching into our 30-day sex challenge. We wanted to be able to help couples both married and single to really refocus their sex lives around what God's principles are," says Paul Wirth, Pastor of "Relevant Church" in Ybor City, Florida.

Pastor Wirth says he came up with the idea because so many people have told him they have "no time for sex".

The paster says, married people should try to have sex for 30 days. A few people have already signed up for the "30-Day Sex Challenge".

Doug Webber says, "Between life, the house, the kids, the business, sometimes how this whole thing got started gets kind of forgotten. So that's what I'm most excited about it, I'm excited about that refocusing time for us."

But single people also have a challenge. The pastor says they have to abstain from sex. "We're asking the single people to take a break from sex, maybe take a sex detox for 30 days ... even if they've been together for years. Because maybe the sex for them has been the central theme of their relationship and maybe they're missing a part of it."

Jarrett Haas is single and has accepted the challenge. "I want to be able to say you know whenever I do find a wife one day, hey I did this for you when I was 26 years old."

Pastor Webber says while this challenge should re-kindle passion and affection in marriages, it will also teach singles to appreciate themselves and their partners without the sex.

Midgit indian bodybuilder gains internation attention

A tiny Indian bodybuilder who is less than 3 feet tall and deemed the world's smallest is causing a huge stir in his hometown and gaining international recognition, according to the British press.

Aditya "Romeo" Dev of Phagwara, India, is a little person who is only 2 feet, 9 inches tall and weighs not even 20 pounds, the Daily Mail reported.

Throngs of people crowd into the local gymnasium on a daily basis to watch him work out, according to the Mail.


"I've been training as a bodybuilder for the last two years, and by now I think I must be the strongest dwarf in the world," Dev, 19, told the Mail. "My size has never stopped me."

In 2006, after months of intense exercise, the Guinness Book of World Records named Dev the smallest bodybuilder on the planet, the Telegraph reported.

In addition to his bodybuilding, Dev is also training to be a dancer, according to the Telegraph.


Unlike most little people, Dev's body is well proportioned, according to the papers.

The pint-sized weight lifter is famous around India and a great source of pride to his parents.

"He has never been bothered at being so small. He has no inferiority complex. He is the jewel of our family," his father says.

Today is Groundhog Day in North America, a day where so-called prognosticating rodents (a.k.a. groundhogs) emerge from their burrows. Custom has it that, if they see their shadow, winter will continue for another 6 weeks; and if they do not, there will be an early spring. This year the US and the Canadian groundhogs differ. Pennsylvania’s Punxsutawney Phil thinks winter will continue (but that with Bush soon out, there’s hope yet) whereas Wiarton Willie quickly noted that Canada’s winter will soon be over and then high-tailed it to the closest pub.

The custom of predicting future weather conditions based on animals dates back at least a thousand years, but using the weather on February 2nd to forecast a longer winter is more recent than that.

It was during the Dark Ages in Europe that this widespread superstition took hold. Peasants and nobles alike noticed a strong connection between a bright, sunny, medieval Candlemas Day and long, dreary winter weather extending into the next 6 weeks:

If Candlemas be fair and bright, Winter has another flight.
If Candlemas brings clouds and rain, Winter will not come again.

In Germany, meanwhile, it was the hedgehog that played a starring role in a similar belief.

Farmers waited for late winter to watch the hibernating animal to come out of his burrow. If the hedgehog saw his shadow on a bright, sunlit day he quickly returned to hibernate…and thus put the official stamp on a prediction of six more weeks of winter for German farmers.


German settlers later brought the old belief with them to Pennsylvania, replacing the hedgehog with the more common American groundhog,

Courtney Oliver - 10 year old Veterinarian

OK, this is kinda cute.

Courtney Oliver maybe only 10-years-old but that hasn’t stopped her from living her dream. Oliver says she has always wanted to be a veterinarian, so she decided to get her veterinary certification.

After 8 months, Oliver had completed an on-line college course and is now working at the South Bay Veterinary Hospital in Olympia.

“I have a dog Maggie and two hamsters and I just though: ‘Well, if I have so many animals why don’t I just work with them?” she say. As for being a vet at 10, Oliver says, “Might as get it done early as get it done late.”

“The first day it kind of made me nervous. But I’m like, ‘When can I do that?’ It doesn’t really scare me because we have blood. Why be scared of it?” she added.
