Fresno CA- Fresno County fire crews have been dispatched to help fight a massive blaze burning in the Santa Cruz mountains.
The so called "Summit Fire" broke out around 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, and has already consumed 2,000 acres near Highway 17 and Mount Madonna County Park, about ten miles west of Gilroy, or about 40 miles south of San Jose.
200 firefighters from the Valley have been sent to aid in fighting the blaze, which is currently 0% contained.
Fire officials say that winds blowing up to 40 miles-per-hour, the rugged terrain and
narrow roads are combining to make it more it difficult for firefighters.
